Tribute to Wasted Tools
Spring 2026
I found the guitar on the sidewalk and was surprised any artist would throw away something with so much possibility and history (they glued the stars on themselves).
Thought about that old trend of musicians smashing guitars on stage. What a waste.
While condemning the practice, I had to acknowledge my own willingness to dispose of resources: the amount of paper I have wasted, as a writer and artist, is also criminal.
Going back through years of old notebooks, I ripped out all the [previously] wasted pages to make paper mâche arms around the guitar.
Bracelet made from guitar’s electrical wires.
I found the mirror on the sidewalk and poked holes in the top to add the flowers, made from broken guitar strings.
